Pony Express Trail

Travels through the vast West Desert in Utah, April, after two days of a soaking rain. On the lower left is a small piece of the actual Pony Express Trail. My trusty Crosstrek endured over 130 miles of rock, mud, washboards, recently sheared sheep, and wild horses (yes, wild horses!) on that trail, finally emerging late afternoon in West Wendover, NV, with its assortment of garish casinos, seedy hotels, and fast food joints.
