Bottleneck Peak

Bottleneck Peak, Wide ShotIt was early autumn. The weather had been iffy the night before, but I was determined to catch the full sun on this fantastic rock. While it was still dark, I hiked to the top of a rise, positioned my camera and telephoto lens on a heavy tripod, and waited. (To the left, a wider view from where I was positioned.) Things looked good for the first few minutes, then the sun went behind a cloud. Actually, I ended up really liking how this shot turned out, as it says much more about sunrise in the Swell. And the morning sky was breathtaking.
